Rev. Dr. Mark Hamilton Stevens, ThD. As an ordained minister for over 30 years, Rev. Mark H. Stevens has served in many capacities in the ministry, with his primary focus on that of Biblical teaching and mentoring. He now serves as the Pastor of Mt. Calvary COGIC in Camden, NJ. Rev. Stevens is a certified Bible teacher under the Evangelical Training Association (ETA) and a graduate from the Institute of Jewish Studies, a school of Philadelphia Bible University in PA. He holds a BA in Theology, an MA in Ministry and a Doctorate in Theology from Freedom Bible College and Seminary. Mark is Supervisor of Chaplains at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital in Southern NJ where he completed his Psychiatric Rehabilitation Certification Training under a joint program with the University Medical and Dentistry of NJ (UMDNJ) school. He’s also a Staff/On-Call Chaplain at Cooper Trauma Center in Camden, NJ where he completed his four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). One of his responsibilities at Cooper is overseeing the training of new volunteers to the Patient Relations department in association with Pastoral Care support. As a certified Crisis Management (CISM) individual he’s also an active member of Cooper’s Crisis Intervention Response Team (CIRT) and Camden County’s Domestic Violence Response Team. Rev. Stevens proudly served 23 years in the United States Air Force in Combat Mobility Units, as a Mission Support Team Chief, Airfield Manager and Satellite Radio Operator, to many locations including Somalia, Panama, Honduras, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Morocco, Korea, and Egypt. As a survivor of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) himself, Dr. Stevens felt compelled to author one of several books, When God Hides His Face, as a handbook dealing with grief, suicide and PTSD. As the Founder and Director of The New Jersey Institute of Theology Studies, Dr. Stevens has a vision to help progressive clergy and laity receive affordable and quality theological education and practical ministerial training, with many online options for completion. NJITS has recently partnered with The Urban Seminary in Newark, NJ and plans to have its restructured online and distance learning programs available in the upcoming year.

Rev. Stevens’ specialty roles include: Theologian, Group Facilitator, Presenter / Speaker, Counselor (Psychiatric, Grief, Biblical, etc.) and Palliative Care / Hospice Chaplaincy.
